jim, romney's speech today was described as a major speech on the economy. didn't seem like there was a lot of specifics in there. but i lost count of how many times i heard him use the word change. >> that's right. they did everything but play the song "don't stop thinking about tomorrow" going back to the bill clinton days. yes, he is talking about change, he's casting himself as the change candidate and i think that is why they went out to iowa today, not to unveil any new economic proposals. you don't really do that in the final stage of a campaign. what they wanted to do was talk about this message that they unveiled yesterday here in ohio and that he is the candidate of not just change, but big change as he likes to say on the campaign trail. >> in terms of weather, brianna, have there been any changes to the president's schedule next week? you mentioned some of his stops. do we know how vulnerable those are to weather? >> yeah, that's right, he's heading to florida, he's heading to virginia. so certainly some of his stops are going to be vulnerable. w

so when i spoke with the former head of the republican party of florida, a guy named jim greer who is in his own trouble over charges about some illegal money thing that he was doing, but when he was running the party he told me that republican consultants came to him and said, we want to craft a bill that would get rid of early voting if we could, or severely cut it, because in the words of these consultants, according to jim greer, all it does is bring every african-american out from under a rock, that's a quote, and get them to vote for democrats. they don't vote for us, it doesn't help us. so the republican legislature which in 2010 became more tea party, more conservative, there's no margin in it for them to increase access to in-person early voting. what they did is passed a law that didn't touch absentee voting, which republicans tend to dominate in, but severely limited the early vote. just to give you some numbers, you're talking about there were 96 hours, there are 96 hours this year total to vote. there were 120 hours in 2008. and already in the state, 3.46 million people h

our national political correspondent jim acosta was there in portsmouth, new hampshire. >> reporter: mitt romney has kicked off his swing state blitz in this final weekend of the presidential campaign starting the day in new hampshire and then heading next to iowa and colorado. we're hearing the gop nominee touch on some themes that he's been bringing up quite a bit in the last couple of days, saying he is the candidate of what he calls real change. he's also going through his five-point economic plan to get the country back on track, talking about ideas like cutting the deficit, tapping into domestic energy resources and fixing the nation's public school system. but one thing that he has been trying to zero in on in this final stretch of the campaign, he's been going after the president's mantel, being a post-partisan president. in the words of mitt romney, the president has been what he calls the most partisan. here's what he had to say. >> yesterday, the president said something you might have heard by now that i think surprised a lot of people. he said voting is the best revenge.
